APRIL 2008 NEWS LETTER

The township elections are now behind us and we have a new Supervisor Steven Langanki, he will be replacing Alfred Shenton who has served the township board for 24 years and has decided he would like to retire. In honor of his years of service the township will host at the township hall a open house April 27th, from 1 P.M. to 3 P.M.

Please join us in honoring him.

May 17th has been selected for the township clean up day a list of acceptable items and cost are included with this letter. Volunteers are needed and if you volunteer you can bring $50.00 worth of things you wish to get rid of for free. Please contact the township office if you are interested.

A  possible new business may come to Silver Creek a new truck stop called the Flying J. It would be located off county road 8 and 148th st. A presentation was given by the company at the regular township meeting. It was noted that 100 local people would be hired and this building would set on about 25 acres. Of course there are many issues to be solved in the purchase of the land and the building of this business. As updates are received look to our web site (www.silvercreektwp.com) for further information.

The township board will be going on road tour April 11th . If you have concerns on a property or road contact the township office for these to be addressed on the tour.

Sincerely

Sandy Forsman

Township Clerk
