SILVER CREEK NEWS LETTER FOR DECEMBER 2009

 

 

Once again the year is closing and the holidays are upon us.

 

 

The township has again renewed the recycling contract with West Central at a better rate saving the township about $10,000.00 a year. New routing and days for collection will be on the calendars included in this letter.

 

A reminder to keep all recycle bins off the road and vehicles for winter plowing. The township is not responsible for damaged due to articles left in the road of way. Vehicles on the road parked will be towed.

 

This January 30th 2010 there will be a health fair sponsored by the New River Hospital. Blood pressure checks and other health related information will be available. This will be at the township hall . A flyer will be mailed to residents with complete information.

 

The township is looking to use the hall for other civic uses. Maybe lunches for the elderly or card parties? Any ideas would be welcome. Contact the township clerk  if you have a suggestion. 763-878-0141

 

This year there will only be a annual meeting in March, the election of supervisors will be held in November combined with the election of governor and other election officials to cut costs. Time for the annual meeting 7 P.M. March 9, 2010

 

There has been a change as to the chloride being applied to those residents that are not on designated roads to be chloride and chose to pay for there chloride. In the past the township has collected from those residents for the payment. The township now is asking those residents that wish to have chloride applied and pay for it contact directly Dust coating Inc. With you payment prior to May 15th 2010. at 1-800-8815848 and state your location and the amount of chloride you want to be applied. If you have questions call Brian in maintenance  at 763-878-2600.

 

The township is also looking for a par-time person for snow plowing. This person must have heavy equipment experience and be able to submit to a drug test. This position is a on call position and the person Appling must live within fifteen (15) miles of the township maintenance hall.
