Regular Meeting of the Silver Creek Township Board

In attendance for the supervisor board, John Jones, Doug Schneider, Heath Gillham, Russell Nelson, Steve Langanki, Clerk Sandy Forsman, Treasurer Lenore Johnson, Maintenance Brian Opatz.

 

Meeting was called to order by chairman John Jones

 

Pledge was recited.

 

Open form for citizen comments- Ray Campbell asked if a counter could be placed between 140th and 128th, road was getting ruff, also spoke on the placement of the trees that he as a landscaper placed around the township property.

Willard Johnson asked if chloride would be placed on 127th? Brian stated that Knife river should be starting the paving project soon and that he would call and get a date.

Bryon Dole the township representative for the Great River hospital board spoke on the candidates application from Silver Creek for the committee to be formed to investigate options for the future of the hospital. Two candidates will be chosen from Silver Creek.

Joni from the hospital gave her monthly report on activities at the hospital.

Ken Pribyl  spoke on the water crossing his drive way on Ellingwood Ave. every time it rains and talked about the township putting a catch basin by the Midwest Auto building and gave information to the board on this.

 

Review and approve the Agenda-ESB added to old business, Doug made a motion to accept the agenda with the additions and Heath seconded all in favor motion carried.

 

Consent agenda items- Minutes of April 20th, 2010 Doug made a motion to accept the minutes as written and Russell seconded all in favor motion carried.

Clerks report- Clerk noted that the City of Clearwater send a invoice for the stickney library for $2410.71,the board felt that the amount excessive and Lenore suggested a donation of $500.00, Steve suggested that a donation of $1000.00 John asked if $500.00

Could be donated to Safe Communities a non profit organization that helps identify issues for young drivers and safety issues for all . Doug stated safe issues for our proposed Silver Creek playground are more urgent.Steves motion to donate $1000.00 to the library was seconded by Russell, Heath and Doug opposed passed 3 to 2. Motion to give Safe Communities $500.00 by Doug and Seconded by Heath all in favor motion carried.

 

Clerks Report- Clerk asked board if $200.00 can be donated for Russells pre retirement party, Doug asked if this can be legally done and stated that this should be investigated by consulting the Township Assocation. To be addressed at June Meeting.New burning permits regulations received and the person burning must call a number to get a permit number, information will be posted on the township web site. Permits can still be obtained at the township office. Attended a class to go on a county site called the Beacon that gives any number of information that can be helpful to the township. Motion to accept the clerks report by Doug and seconded by Heath all in favor motion carried.

Board to take under advisement clerks time management.

 

Steve stated that Ray Campbell and he had discussed possible moving of some of the trees this fall that are to close to the blacktop.

 

Disbursements- Steve will look into the townships cell phone options.Doug made a motion to accept the disbursements and Heath seconded all in favor motion carried.

 

Audit of claims- ck # 10431 Hasty Truck Stop $38.51, Ck #10443 Center Pointy $256.00, Ck 10456 County Flags $242.61. Motion by Steve to accept the Audit of Claims by Steve and seconded by Russell all in favor motion carried.
