Regular meeting of the Planning and Zoning Board

January 12th, 2010

In attendance for the planning board Johann Massman, Bill Langenbacher, Amy Forsythe, Mary Hill, Dan Ness, Supervisor Board John Jones, Doug Schneider, Heath Gillham, Russell Nelson, Steve Langanki, Clerk Sandy Forsman.

Meeting was called to order by Johann, Call for the approval of the November 10th, 2009 Minutes, Bill made a motion to approve and Mary seconded all in favor motion carried.

 

Knife River who was scheduled to appear asked to be rescheduled for the February meeting.

 

Robert Gruys (Midwest Auto) was called Scott Johnson appeared for Mr. Gruys who was out of town.

Planning and board discussed that this C. U. P. has not been in compliance for some time, violations as number of cars and conditions that were agreed to by Mr. Gruys at the time of application had to be pointed out to him by letters from the board with a final letter to the County.

Bill stated he would not give a recommendation to revise this C.U.P. based on that the original had not been in compliance since day one.

Mary made a motion to deny any revision based on his previous record, Amy seconded all in favor motion carried.

 

Bill asked about the reply from Tom Salkowski on the Buddhist Temple, the board felt that this reply sends a message to the board and residents that little can be done when it comes to certain concerns involving the Temples activities. Bill stated that a copy of Toms letter be forwarded to  Annette Kasper the petition originator for her information.

 

Bill also asked if any information has been obtained on the mushroom farm started and the states of the trailer on the property. Response that no information had been obtained.

 

Bill also asked if the concerns of the  citizens by the pit that Knife River operates were addressed on the odor masking problem. John stated that they were addressed and taken care of.

 

Bill also asked if the fence on the Jerry’s Towing site has been put up. To be reviewed at the February meeting.

 

Bill asked the supervisor  board  to read and recommend there thoughts on the operating and procedures manual that was presented to them for the February meeting. Questions on board qualifications, removal if needed of members was brought up.

 

Motion to adjourn by Bill and seconded by Mary all in favor motion carried.
