Burning restrictions went into effect on Friday April 15th at 8 a.m. until further notice.  Permits are not necessary for recreational campfires of 3 feet in diameter or less.  Any variance requests for burning during this time must be referred to the local DNR Forestry Office: Bob Quady 763-856-4826.

The DNR has issued a new burning permit, which allows burning from 6 p.m. to 8 a.m.  The new permit is a more complicated form.  You can still get this permit from the Township Clerks office during regular office hours.  You will need to call an 800 number to get a permit number.  You can get an online permit by going to www.dnr.state.mn.us /burningpermits .

See Barb at the Town Hall during regular business hours for burning permits.  It is never permissible to burn garbage or construction debris.  Recreational fires (3' x 3') do not require a permit.  All fires must be attended at all times.  Please be advised that burning bans and restrictions are commonly put into effect each spring by the DNR.  A burning permit is not required during winter months when there is 3" or more snow cover.
